About KJ

KJ Miller is the Co-Founder of Mented, a multi-million dollar cosmetics brand celebrating the beauty of diversity. Since its 2017 launch Mented has achieved rapid growth by helping women feel seen and empowered with its inclusive shade range. In 2024 KJ led the company through an acquisition, and the brand is now a part of West Lane Capital Partner's beauty portfolio. As a Brand President within the firm KJ now heads up both Mented Cosmetics and Beauty Bakerie, a high performance makeup brand that blends modern bakery delight with the world of beauty.

Prior to founding Mented KJ spent most of her career working in retail, with a two-year hiatus to attend Harvard Business School graduating in 2014. Her immense retail and product experience spans across functions including merchandising, assortment planning, and supply chain management.

Outside of Mented, KJ is a Lecturer at Yale School of Management and Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, and an angel investor with a focus on women-led consumer product companies. KJ has mentored and advised dozens of entrepreneurs, and has been featured in several publications including Forbes, Fast Company and The New York Times for her authentic, relatable approach to entrepreneurship.
 

It's this very approach that KJ is now bringing to the world with her course Startup Starter Kit. After spending countless hours coaching founders and would-be founders, she realized that for many people the path to entrepreneurship was murky and intimidating. This course levels the playing field by making entrepreneurship accessible to all.
